January 2008: Westie Rescue, Inc., Bluemont, VA
Westie Rescue, Inc., is an all-volunteer, federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives and welfare of homeless West Highland White Terriers (Westies). We facilitate the rescue and adoption of stray, abandoned, neglected, abused, and surrendered Westies or Westie-mixes in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Delaware, and parts of West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. February 2008: Noah’s Ark Foundation, Inc., Woodbridge, VA
Noah's Ark Foundation is a group of volunteers who foster animals in our homes in Northern Virginia. Since we don't have a shelter yet, we are limited as to the number of pets we can take in at any time, but we do our best! “Two by two we will make a difference.” (www.nafva.org)

March 2008: Oldies but Goodies Cocker Rescue, Inc., Newington, VA
Oldies but Goodies Cocker Rescue, Inc, (OBG) is an all-volunteer non profit animal rescue organization based in Washington DC that is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. We do this through the rescue, medical care, rehabilitation and placement by adoption of homeless and/or abandoned cocker spaniels and cocker spaniel mixes to good homes in the Mid-Atlantic region. April 2008: LUCAS (Let Us Consider Adopting Strays), Montclair, VA
LUCAS (Let Us Consider Adopting Strays) is an all volunteer non-profit organization based in Prince William County, VA that endeavors to make a difference by: Changing public opinion and policy through education on the benefits of sterilization; Promoting adoption of homeless companion animals; Raising funds to sponsor low or no cost spay/neuter clinics; and Creating a NO KILL, Safe Sanctuary for adoptable, homeless and unwanted animals. May 2008: Dutchess County SPCA, Hyde Park, NY
It is the mission of the DCSPCA to rescue and provide temporary humane shelter for the abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals of the Dutchess County community. Central to our mission is the securing of caring, responsible, permanent homes for the adoptable animals in our care. We provide humane law enforcement throughout Dutchess County and promote and advance responsible, humane companion animal guardianship by example and through education. (www.dcspca.org)

June 2008: SPCA/HS of Prince George’s County, Bowie, MD
The SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's County, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of volunteers dedicated to animal welfare. We are chartered by the State of Maryland, but we receive no state or county funds. Our activities are supported solely by contributions, dues and fundraising events. We have three main objectives: to reduce the number of unwanted litters of dogs and cats through our progressive spay/neuter program; to prevent cruelty to animals and all animal suffering through humane education, neglect and cruelty investigations, protective legal action, and an active dog and cat adoption program; and to protect all animals against suffering and abuse through education on legislation effecting the protection of all animals. September 2008: Indy Homes for Huskies, Avon, IN
Indy Homes for Huskies is a non-for-profit 501c3 organization is comprised of private individuals committed to the rescue and adoption of Siberian Huskies and Husky mixes. We are all volunteers. Our mission is to encourage and promote responsible dog guardianship and to reduce the abuse and neglect of all Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes and mixes thereof through rescue, rehabilitation and adoption. October 2008: Virginia German Shepherd Rescue, Inc., Sterling, VA
Welcome to Virginia German Shepherd Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit, 100% volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of the German Shepherd Dog. We serve Virginia and the Metropolitan Washington, D.C., area, and provide a valuable service by finding good homes for the German Shepherd Dogs in our care.
